5 photographs 14x11 of the area around 5 Indian Caves in southern Monterey County.
This cave is 6 miles from the Mission San Antonio - as distinct from the cave use to as a wagon shelter, which is 12 miles from the Mission. To find the Indian cave with paintings take the Pine Canyon road (which led to the old gold mining area). You have to obtain a key to the gate. This photograph shows the right wall of the cave as you enter - taken with only the light from the entrance. The O symbol to the left upper side of photo is, or appears to be, the same as the symbol painted on the lizard rock as an eye. To find the wagon cave take the road to the Lucia Camp Ground - the road passes in front of the cave, which is on the left, between the road and the river.
